About Boysen

Powered By
Work Nicer

Founded in 2015, born out of the foundational belief in community, Work Nicer has since grown to Alberta’s largest coworking community with outposts in Calgary and Edmonton. Originally started by rallying 10 friends together there are now 750+ members, friends old and new, that are moving their legacies forward with their community as the catalyst.

The Boysenberry is a berry with an unclear origin. It is a cross of multiple different varieties of multiple different berries that is credited to horticulturist Charles Boysen. After bringing some dying vines back to life, the boysenberry helped make the famous Knotts Berry Farm the success it is today – one person’s creation provided a foundation for another’s success. Berries, including the Boysenberry, are considered a superfood.

Similarly entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders of companies are also of multiple “varieties”. They strive for and inspire success. They are the economic superfood.

guiding principles

#1

Provide preposterous value without the nonsense

We make decisions with a long term view that adds value to members. We believe it’s best to keep current members rather than find new ones. When members recognize value over cost, they stay for life.

#2

Enable dramatic impact without the drama

Positively impacting the lives and businesses of Work Nicer members is the core to our success. Being a catalyst that changes the course of the member journey fosters deep loyalty.

#3

Do what’s hard because growth comes from struggle

We scale the unscalable. We never cut corners. We are not a real estate company. We are rooted in community. By scaling the human element a rock-solid foundation is built and that’s tough to shake as we continue to move forward.

#4

Do what’s right because character is all we really have

We govern ourselves on the decisions we make when no one else is looking. Our word is our bond. We are patient. We do what we say and always tell the truth, especially when it’s hard.
